Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

Welcome to Oakheart Bookshop

These terms and conditions apply to all purchases made through oakheartbookshop.dk. By placing an order, you accept these terms, so please give them a read. They are shorter than most prologues.1.

Who we are

Oakheart Bookshop, CVR: 40202323, by ES Publishing, Vesterbrogade 74, 1260 Copenhagen, Denmark, info@oakheartbookshop.dk

Products

We sell books, with a focus on indie and self-published authors, as well as related merchandise. All products are described as accurately as possible. Product images are illustrative, and small variations (for example in print editions or cover finishes) can occur, especially with indie print runs.

Ordering

When you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. This confirmation is a receipt of your order, and a binding purchase agreement is made when we confirm and ship your order. We reserve the right to cancel an order in case of pricing errors, stock errors, or suspected fraud, and we will always contact you if that happens.

Prices and Payment

All prices are shown in Danish kroner (DKK) and include Danish VAT (moms) unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs are added at checkout before you confirm your order.

Payment is processed securely by our third-party payment provider. We never store your card details. The amount is only withdrawn when your order is shipped. Pre-orders may be charged at the time of order, and this will be clearly stated on the product page.

Shipping and Delivery

We ship from Denmark. Delivery times and shipping costs are shown at checkout and depend on your location and the delivery method you choose. Expected delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. If your order is significantly delayed, we will let you know by email. If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect address provided by you, or because it was not collected, we may deduct the actual shipping costs from your refund.

Right of Withdrawal (Fortrydelsesret)

As a consumer in the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal when shopping online, starting from the day you receive your order. To use this right, notify us at info@oakheartbookshop.dk within 14 days of receiving your order, then return the item without undue delay.

Books must be returned unread and in the condition you received them. If a returned item shows signs of use beyond what is needed to inspect it (such as a creased spine, bent pages, or marks), we may reduce the refund to reflect the reduced value of the item. For full details on return shipping and refunds, see our Returns & Refunds policy.

Complaints (Reklamationsret)

Under the Danish Sale of Goods Act, you have a 2-year right to complain about faulty or defective products. If your book or merchandise has a defect that was present at delivery (for example printing errors or damage in transit), contact us at info@oakheartbookshop.dk with your order number and a photo, and we will offer a replacement, repair, or refund as required by law. This right covers defects, not wear and tear from normal use.

Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including our name, logo, texts, and images, belongs to Oakheart Bookshop or our partners and authors, and may not be used without permission. The books we sell remain the intellectual property of their respective authors and publishers.

Liability

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as postal delays, strikes, or supplier failures. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under Danish and EU law.

Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. The short version: we collect only what we need, we protect it, and we never sell it.

Complaints

Complaints if you are unhappy with a purchase and we cannot resolve it together (we will genuinely try), you can file a complaint with: Center for Klageløsning / Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, via naevneneshus.dk. You can also use the EU Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu

Changes to these Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on our website at the time you placed your order.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by Danish law, and any disputes shall be settled by the Danish courts, without limiting your rights as a consumer.
