OUR STORY

2026 July

It all started with Emile Sodyte, an indie author herself. For years she lived and breathed the indie book world: writing her own books, showing up at every author event and book fair, and learning firsthand how hard it is for small authors to be seen.

Then, in July 2026, she decided it was time. Time to bring small authors on board and create a place where everyone is welcome, readers and writers alike. Oakheart Bookshop began its journey.

It has not been easy. The first step was reaching out to romantasy indie authors around the world and inviting them to sign up and join the bookshop, one story at a time. Then came launching our website, and now we are collecting funds to open our physical store, a real home for indie books where you can wander the shelves and find your next obsession.

We are just at the beginning of our story and like every good first chapter, it starts with heart.
