Faith and Ruin: Eye of the Maelstrom by Amanda and Rory Webb

When secrets unravel, will there be anything left to save?

After a devastating attack against the Church of Vidamae, priestess-in-training Quay and her bodyguards—grumpy Sword Guy Ghdion and verbose not-a-mage Hypnocost—must stop the murderous cultists before anyone else gets killed. As they race back to Praetorius, will they be too late to stop the cult’s plans for vengeance?

Within the plenum, tensions rise between paladin Avindea and Chancellor Eldivar. The leaders in Praetorius struggle to maintain order within a city on the brink of war. Trustworthy allies are few and far between. Will Avindea survive the increasingly dangerous political schemes surrounding her?

With Praetorius under heightened security, ex-soldier Lucius and prickly and competent Midori get caught in the crossfire as the cultists sow chaos in the city. The mysterious Brakten, leader of The Maelstrom, shows up to help, but will even his impressive skills be enough to save them?

Faith and Ruin: Eye of the Maelstrom is the second in a six-book series, for fans of stories that feel cozy, hopeful, and humorous without sacrificing the high drama of epic fantasy.
